| I. Book Returns Policy |
- For full-length fall and spring semester classes, Mary Jane will accept returns of books for full reimbursement for two weeks from the start of classes. During the third week of classes, we will accept returns for store credit (you will receive a store voucher that is valid for one year).
- You must have your register receipt and the stickers must still be on the books in order to make a return. Shrinkwrapped books must still be shrinkwrapped.
- For summer classes and quarter classes, books may be refunded within the first three days of the semester.
- Imported titles may not be refunded.
- Damaged books that are sold at a reduced price may not be refunded, exchanged for store credit, or bought in book buyback.
- Special orders are not returnable. You are not obliged to purchase books you've special ordered, but once you have paid a deposit on a special order and we have ordered the book for you, you can only get the deposit back towards the purchase of that book.
- Books must be in the condition they were bought in to be returned.
- Books bought with a credit card must be refunded to the card they were bought on. Books purchased with a check may not be refunded until the original check has cleared. New books that are no longer in new condition will be refunded for the "used" price.
- Damaged books are not returnable--check your books before you buy them!
- NO EXCEPTIONS.

| II. Book Buyback |
- We buy back textbooks everyday of the year.
- We buy back every type of book, not just college text books. If we couldn't buy your books back try putting them online at half.com or abe.com.
- Buy back prices, in every reality, are a fraction of what you paid for the book (explained in further detail below). It is simple capitalist economics--deriving a profit from a product to cover business expenses. If you could sell back books for the exact price you paid for them we couldn't pay our employees, pay our store rent, or buy books for your classes--nor could any other business in this country. To sell back your textbooks you need a picture ID, e.g., driver's license, school ID, passport, military ID, library card with photo on it, YMCA card, Sam's Club card.
- We may not buy your books back if they have: water damage, any fluid damage, burn damage, broken bindings, missing pages, excessive highlighting or writing, or animal foxing. Old editions of books may also not be bought back. Custom printed versions of books might not be bought back. International versions of textbooks (many sold online) might not be bought back.
- If you are belligerent we may not buy your books back.
- Buyback prices are the standard prices offered by several national wholesale book companies, e.g., Nebraska Book Company, Budgettext, Follett, Southeastern Book Company, and Tichenor. If you are not happy with the prices these companies are offering for books, by all means, drop them a line. At all times during the year, with the exception of the end of semesters, the buyback prices you receive are the prices set by these companies--not Mary Jane.
- HOWEVER, the end of the semester is the best time to sell back books. HERE IS WHY: in addition to the above-mentioned wholesale companies offering money for your text books, at the end of the semester, Mary Jane offers to buy the books herself based on book orders that professors have already made for next semester. The end-of-semester price that Mary Jane offers at this time for books being used in the store next semester is higher than our wholesalers. That is why the end of the semester is the best time to sell back books.

- Any USED book can be rented for $5.00 per day. This is how it works:
- You must pay the full cost of the used book you wish to rent.
- When you bring the book back with your complete receipt, you receive the difference of the total cost of the book minus $5.00 per day you have the book.
- The book MUST BE IN COMPARABLE, RESALABLE CONDITION upon return or we will not accept it. We do not accept books back with ANY water or "fluid" damage, animal bites, burns, broken bindings, torn pages, vomit, etc.
- If you bought the book on a credit card, we must refund the difference to same the credit card the book was purchased on.
- You can only rent used books, new books cannot be rented.
- If you have any questions, ask us!
